How Lose Weight Quickly

Most people today want to lose weight quickly and easily. This is why there is such an interest in so-called magic pills that are supposed to allow you to lose weight without any effort. It would be nice if these pills worked, but they do not. Save your money and lose weight quickly with mind over matter.

One thing that you have to ask yourself when you want to lose weight is how strong the desire to lose weight is. Your desire to lose weight has got to be greater than your desire to eat foods that are not good for you. One way that you can lose weight is to develop some sort of hobby. Have you ever noticed that when you are busy with a hobby that you do not end up craving food as much? You have to keep your mind off of your cravings if you want to lose weight quick.

There is not getting around it. In order to lose weight quick, you have to cut your calories and increase your metabolism. In order to do this, you have to have the mindset that is necessary to want to lose weight. Once you find that you are determined to lose weight on any sort of diet, you will find that the pounds will start to melt off.

Even if you cut your calorie intake by a few hundred calories a day and increase your exercise level, you will find that you will lose weight. Cutting your calorie intake is essential if you are going to lose weight and there might be times when you want to eat more. You have to be able to tell yourself that you do not want to eat more and that your desire to lose weight is stronger than your desire to eat.

Cutting out foods that are simply not good for you is also essential when you want to lose weight quickly. No matter what anyone tells you, eating fast foods, fried foods and other foods that are high in sugar or fat (such as sweets) have to be eliminated from your diet if you are going to successfully lose weight. Most of these foods are not only fattening, but they are also bad for your heart.

Exercise is essential for weight loss. As a matter of fact, trying to lose weight without exercising is a waste of time. You have to increase your level of physical activity in order to successfully lose weight. This does not mean that you have to buy expensive equipment or join a health club. It just means that you have to increase you activity level. This can be accomplished by taking a walk.

You can lose weight quickly if you eat the right foods, increase your level of activity and have the right mindset to lose the weight and achieve your ideal weight goal.

How To Stay Motivated While On A Diet

Anyone who has ever been on a diet knows it is hard to stay motivated. After two days (or maybe two hours) all the things you are not “suppose” to eat start calling out to you. On top of that, you have to find time to exercise. How are you suppose to fit in an extra half-hour, two or three days a week in your already-busy schedule?! Considering these obstacles, it’s no wonder the majority of diets fail.

If you are anything like me, you have gotten to a point where failure is not an option. You have become so unhappy with your weight, your next diet has to work. Before starting, you want to make sure you know how to stay motivated during the diet.

Reminders

We all have certain pictures that we look at and think,” I looked to thin; I want to get back to that point.” We also have those not-so-flattering pictures at our heaviest, and the photographer shot at the worst angle. For me, it was the latter picture that made me decide my weight was out of control and I needed to make a change.

Keep these pictures out where you will see them everyday. Hang one up on the fridge so when you go to grab that gallon of ice cream, it will make you think twice. Tape another picture to your bathroom mirror. It will be one of the first things you see in the morning, and one of the last images you see before going to bed.

Removing Temptation

Unless you hole yourself up in a cave for the duration of your diet, it will probably be impossible to completely rid yourself of temptations. There will always be that vending machine at work, or a few fast food restaurants that you will drive past throughout the week. In those cases, sheer self-control will have to get you through.

You do have control over what is in your cupboards. Get rid of the ice cream, chips, cookies, frozen pizzas, pastries, etc. My favorite way to get rid of food I shouldn’t have in the house is to leave it in the break room/kitchen at work. Someone will eat it! That way, I don’t feel like I am wasting it. Unfortunately in some cases, some foods will just have to get thrown out. In that instance, just decide which is more important to you: your goal, or stuffing yourself with $3 worth of Little Debbie’s cakes so it doesn’t “go to waste.”

Guilt

There will probably be a time when you will give in and cheat. When you do, you will probably feel guilty after. The thoughts that usually go through my head are,”I feel like crap now, why did I do that,” and,”that really wasn’t worth ruining my diet for.” Try to keep this feeling in the back of your mind to recall when you feel like cheating again.

Also keep in mind that you are only human! If you cheated once in a week or two, cut yourself a break. If you are cheating once or twice a day, maybe you need to reconsider if you are truly ready to lose weight.

Support

It is important to have a support system when you are making any major life changes. That is not to say dieting successfully cannot be done on one’s own. The first time I did the hCG Protocol, I had no support. My fiance and closest friends were very skeptical. They did not discourage me, but they did express their thoughts that it would not work. This actually fueled me to prove everyone wrong. Forty-three days and 26 lbs later, everyone was in awe of how much weight I had lost in such a short period of time.

Even if you don’t have someone close to you to support you through your diet, chances are there is some form of support group available online. Even if you are too shy to comment or ask some questions, you would be able to see what some other people are experiencing. It’s very possible someone else has been in the same spot, and he/she triumphed through. It’s so much easier to keep believing when you know someone else has gotten through the same situation.

In the end, there really is one key to stay stay motivated during a diet: you have to truly want to lose the weight. Just as a smoker has to truly want to quit to be successful, the same concept applies to those of us who are dieting to lose weight. We have to make life changes, break bad habits, and change our way of thinking. Once you dedicate yourself to a program and drop the excuses, the sky is the limit!
